Spirit Master : Real Life Inspirations from Motivational Speakers, Success Gurus & other Inspirational Persona...sometimes the best teachers or motivational speakers in life are not necessary expensive, sometimes they just happened to be someone you know in person. Spirit Masters, Motivational Speakers, Success Coach, Gurus and Peak Performance Experts...etc.These are just the few descriptions to the people who had rake in millions of dollars teaching people about how to be successful, whether in the field of business management, team building or personal performance.
One fact I am 100% sure of is that almost all the so called motivational speakers or success gurus share one common talent; they are all very, very good at marketing and advertising.
If you are like me, the kind of person who needs information before you try out something, then the information I provide you here will be very valuable to you because they are all directly from my "Real Life Learning Experience" from some of those motivational speakers or success gurus of our time.
Maybe you are like me before, searching for that Perfect Spirit Master for your life, or you are just going through some of those rough times of your life. I am blessed with the ability to notice whenever one of these real life mentor walk in to my life. And I hope you can benefit as much as I did, by sharing my experience to you. PROLOGUE: If You Meet The Buddha
Sometime I wonder is this the reason some of the service and products from these motivational speakers or success gurus don't come cheap. Although they do offer their knowledge with books that can be bought over a price of a decent meal from family restaurants like TGI Fridays, but it never seems to be enough for me just reading their books when they are offering audio programs, seminars, live workshop and personal coaching...etc.
There is always this little voice behind my head that whispers:
"Hey, get the more expensive stuff, that's where the real secrets are." Yet as a marketing professional for more than 10 years myself, I can't help but suspect that it was all just another attempt to dig out more cash from me.
If you are like me, you will be very angry! Well, sure, people like Arnold Schwarzenegger may use the service or products from motivational speakers, but that does not give them the right to rise up the price? Even it is only an advertising strategy to increase the credibility of their products, but then again, what kind of 'craps' credibility is that for people like Arnold to use their products to become successful? Arnold is already rich, famous and successful, isn't he? HEY! How should I feel then, especially when I am struggling to meet my ends? I am the needy one who needed their help but couldn't because I can't afford it? What should I do? Should I just kill myself or shoot the guru instead? There is this Buddhist theology that Buddhist rarely discusses, taught by DiZhangWang, a well known Bodhisattva (An enlightened being who, out of compassion, forgoes nirvana in order to save others) about Killing the Buddha you meet along your spiritual path of enlightenment.
This notion is meant to remind a Buddhist Practitioners the danger of over relying to any figures of power, especially the so called gurus along your way.
So I say :" Why don't we just shoot the Gurus? Especially when they are hurting our wallet.
But I need to confess something to you... Before You Shoot The Guru.
I myself had spent loads of money buying products and books from motivational speakers like Anthony Robbins, Napoleon Hill...etc. Yes, I was once one of those unsatisfied souls who indulge in buying of all these products, thinking that I can achieve success easily. Well ok, I did not spend as much as Arnold, but that is just because I cannot afford it.
The most expensive items I had spent were a 12 parts Audio Lessons Series called Personal Power by Anthony Robbins, it cost me almost US$170++. The rest are mostly books from Brain Tracy, Laurie Beth Jones...etc.
If you are like me, you will ask: "Are they of any use at all?"
The answer that question is...a 'No'and also a 'Yes'. No, because most of the time I just finish reading them then put them on my bookshelf. and Yes, because I did try to apply their teaching at work or life. Some principles did work wonders but the problem is they never last long enough before I grab another book from another guru.
In short, I am looking for the best, one man answers all, ultimate masters of all to help me to achieve my goals in life. And by the way, don't forget that distracting whisper that urges me to buy the more expensive offers behind my head.
The truth is life never works that way. On the course of my search for that perfect spirit master for my life, I realized that there is no such thing as a one size fit all guru; each and every one of us need different advice from different people, be it from motivational speakers, gurus or even friends for the different phase and situations of our life.
The purpose for this Spirit Masters Column are as follows:
One guarantee I can give you is that all these motivational speakers, success gurus or real life persons do inspired and helped me to go through some of the worst days of my life. Whether these inspirations came from the books they wrote, the speech they gave or even the movies they made...etc, their inspirations or motivations always seems to fit in the Overall Game Plan of my life; either at the moment when I encounter them, or at some later dates.
