How about Hiring the Son of God as your Next CEO?
She is the perfect example of how the Teaching of Jesus Christ and The Practice of Professional Business World can compliment each other to Greatness!
Laura Beth Jones is one on those motivational speakers and inspirational writers that I own a great deal of thanksgiving to. See, I am a believer of Jesus for more than 10 years now. And the most challenging aspect for being a believer myself is none other than the struggles and conflicts i met on a daily basis as a marketing person and a manager in the business world. Is really very funny when I was view by my Chrsitain friends as too "earthly" and "not so" religious due to my profession yet my other 'non-believers' colleagues or relatives always sees me as a person with Deep Faith in Christ on the way I carry myself at work.
Throughout the years, Laura Beth Jones is one motivational speakers and inspirational writers who had really given me the inspirations, directions and guidance whenever I have to deal with this "dilemma" of mine. She is the perfect example of how the Teaching of Christ and the Practice of Professional Business World can compliment each other to Greatness! Just look at the Title of my 3 most favourite books written by her..... [Jesus CEO] Using Ancient Wisdom for Visionary Leadership [Jesus in Blue Jeans] A Practical Guide To Everyday Spirituality
[The Path] Creating Your Mission Statement for Work and for Life I believe the Books' Titles pretty much explained themselves. Don't dismiss these books as another desperate attempt to merging 2 different things into one, this is NOT.I know that there are people who will accuse this attempt to be "Serving Two Master" and view it as a "sin" of some kind. And I am not interested for any "theology argument" by the way. What I am trying to say here is that Laurie Beth Jones books had not only gave me the inspirations to deal with those struggles, but also had helped me to apply the principle of my Faith in a very pratical and useful way in my business profession. Laurie Beth Jones is also one of the very 1st author and motivational speakers I wrote to for help during one of my most desperate moment in life. She never really reply, but I do got her answer in Jesus CEO. Most Valuable Lessons from Laurie Beth Jones
(1) On Team Management People were gifts that made God's son happy. Jesus enjoyed their comapany....He taught them and trained them, but his joy did notcome from end result. It came from the process and from their companionship. Your staff members may or may not execuute the plans that you have brilliantly set before them..... However, you must never forget that these people are, most of all, someone greatest gift to you.Enjoy them. Cherish them. Defend them. Relish Them To shepherd a flock butterflies, one must stand there in delight(From : [Jesus CEO] Pg 279) (2)When Making Tough Business Decision Maintaining that connection with your own inner knowing is so important. Doing the difficult things means not letting public opnion sway you from what your heart, gut, spirit, or instinct is telling you. Peter tried to stop Jesus from going to Jerusalem. He sensed danger there, and he was right. However, Jesus knew it was part of a larger plan. So, he 'set his face' towards Jerusalem,' even knowing the consequnces.(From : [Jesus CEO] Pg 27) (3)On facing the Unpleasant Truth in your organization I am amazed at how often we honor each others' illusion. Perhaps we are afraid of a Grand Unmasking; If one of us is forced to tell the truth, we will all be expected to reveal our true inner selves. Then where would we be? Free. At least, that is what Jesus believe. The truth will set us free.Jesus called the question.(From : [Jesus CEO] Pg 96) (4)On Breaking Norms and Rank Jesus did not follow the crowd. He led it. He did not report the news. he made it happen. Mark McCormack, in his book The 110% Solution, states that he does not think people should read the papaer in the morning. He believes they are just getting information that is avaliable to everyone and are therefore formulating their plans based on common knowledge. McCormack says that leaders are responsible for having uncommon knowledge. He reads the paper in the evening, after he has done everthing he can think of to do something noteworthy for hhimself, his family, or his company.(From : [Jesus CEO] Pg 100]
