This Awesome Friend Of Mine.
The inspirations he gave me are so much more than any motivational speakers or success gurus I ever knew. ..My only regret in this wonderful friendship was that I really wish I had known him earlier. He died on the 4th of November 19...

I enjoy every second I spend with him, even though he often visits me in odd places at odd timing; he will appear to me when I was sitting alone at a cafeteria or at 4:00am during my sleepless night. But each time when he visits me, he never failed to give me the comfort and inspirations with his passionate perception to all the pressing questions and meaning of life.

He always greet me with questions like

When I was torn apart between the decisions of doing what I want, over what was expected from the various roles I play in work and life?

He told me that

"Life is a series of pulls back and forth. That it is common for a lot of us wanting to do one thing, but are bound to do something else. Something hurts you, yet you know you shouldn't; we often take things for granted, even when we know we should not take anything for granted."

But however things or events may turn, Love wins! Love always wins!

These are just a tip of an ice berg of some of the greatest inspirations I learned from this awesome friend of mine. The inspirations he had given me are so much more valuable than any motivational speakers or success gurus I ever knew.

He is not only my dearest friend of all, but also my role model and mentor for life. My only regret in this wonderful friendship was that I really wish I had known him earlier. He died on the 4th of November 1994.....

I only knew him 5 years later.

His name is Morrie Schwartz, a sociology professor of Brandeis University in the city of Waltham, Massachusetts.

14 weeks before Morrie death from a terminal neurological illness called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), his former student, Mitch Albom also a journalist and writer, spend every Tuesday with him beside his sickbay and completed one of the most inspirational books that I will hold dear in my heart for the rest of my life, the book was titled: [Tuesdays With Morrie] An old man, a young man, and life’s greatest lessons

I know Morrie may not be the typical motivational speakers one percieved, but reading that book was more like "a living experience"to me; every word Morrie said was as if he was talking to me in person. I never quite understand why I had such a strong feeling on a character from a book, but it happened, and is as real as any friend I know in person.

On Relationship
(1) There is no formula to relationships. They have to be negotiated in loving ways, with room for both parties, what they want and what they need, what they can do and what their life is like.(Pg177-178) 


On Death
(1)Everyone knows they¡¦re going to die, but nobody believes it. If we did, we would do things differently. (Pg 81) 

(2)To know you¡¦re going to die, and be prepared for it at any time. That¡¦s better. That way you can actually be more involved in your life while you are living.(Pg 81) 

(3)The truth is, Mitch, once you learn how to die, you learn how to live. (Pg 82) 

(4)Most of us all walk around as if we are sleep walking, We don¡¦t really experience he world fully, because we are half-asleep, doing things we automatically think we should do¡K. (When facing death)You strip away all that stuff and you focus on the essentials. (Pg83)

On Marriage
(1)I've learned this much about marriage, you get tested. You find out who you are, who the other person is, and how you accommodate or don't. (Pg149) 

(2)If you don't respect the other person, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. If you don't know how to compromise, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. If you can't talk openly about what goes on between you, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. And if you don't have a common set of values in life, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. Your values must be alike. And the biggest one of all those values is your belief in the importance of your marriage. (Pg149) 

(3)Personally, I think marriage is a very important thing to do, and you've missing a hell of a lot if you don't try it. Love each other or perish. (Pg149)
