Passion had been a very popular 'word' used by most of the motivational speakers, gurus and spirit masters througout the centuries. But do you know that the word Passion actually had a meaning of "SUFFERING" in it's root?

But the origin of PASSION whether in English and French goes further back to the Late Latin passio, which means "suffering." In Latin passio was a Christian context to describe the sufferings of Jesus Christ crucification. However the Latin's Passio can still goes further to an even earlier Latin verb pati, menning "to suffer," and to the Greek pathos, which also means suffering and deep emotion.

That's the reason why the famous movie directed by none other than Mel Gibson about the crucification of Jesus Christ is called [PASSION]

However the best explanation of Passion I ever known is on an article I read,written by Mr. Dana Gioia, a long-time commentator for the BBC that explains....

'....Passion is emotion that endures. It must survive all obstacles, not the least of which is the burden of its own intensity. In love, passion can not only survive the loss of the beloved; that loss can free the passion to an independent life of its own. The passion itself becomes the beloved.....passion refuses to be passive.'

So yes, Passion is is an important element for us to Live Out Our True Callings in life. But it means more on the strength and endurance to overcome all obstacles and suffering rather than the driving forces we own to fulfill our dreams in our life.
